Please note Nottinghamshire GP Practices are NOT getting their vaccination supply this week.
Please wait for further information and please do not ring with enquiries about the COVID vaccination.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

We would encourage all patients who are eligible and invited to attend for their vaccination when they are invited. These vaccines are not being given in the surgery and are being coordinated on a regional basis. We would therefore ask that you do not telephone to enquire when you will be getting your vaccine as we will not know and our telephone lines are already busy with callers who may have more urgent medical problems.

COVID-19 Results

If you have had a test organised by the surgery we are more than happy for you to call to discuss your results. If however you have been tested by your employer or in a testing environment outside the surgery we would ask that you contact the organiser of your test as we do not always have capacity to deal with these results.

Please note we are now closed between 12.15pm and 1.30pm each day for emergency Covid -19 updates; our telephone lines do remain open.

FLU Immunisations 2020

If you are 65 years or older or are eligible due to conditions that put you at higher risk, please phone to book for your flu appointment . Please note we are not yet able to offer flu vaccines to under 18s or those whose only risk factor is being over the age of 50 as we are awaiting stock. We appreciate that the government have recommended vaccination to all over 50s but they have not yet arranged the additional deliveries of vaccine. Should you wish to have this vaccination as soon as possible it is possible it is being offered privately by pharmacies for rates of around £8 to £14.

If you have an appointment please arrive as close to on time as you can wearing clothes that give us easy access to your shoulders. We will be operating a one way socially distanced system on the day. You will also need to wear a face covering and will have your temperature checked.

Face Coverings from 15th June 2020

If you have an appointment at Hounsfield Surgery you will  now need to wear a face covering. This could be a mask or scarf. Any item that covers the nose and mouth.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Any patient who has a pre booked appointment with the GP, Nurse or Health Care Assistant is advised  to telephone the surgery before attending.

Our GPs will be operating a telephone triage system for ALL appointments.

Anyone with a continuous cough, fever or flu-like symptoms MUST NOT come into the surgery.

NEW: Text message appointment reminders.  If you would like to receive reminders for your appointments, please contact the surgery.

We have started to send text messages to patients for health promotion and appointment confirmation reminders.

Please ensure that the surgery has your correct mobile telephone number

Appointment reminders by text are an additional service and these may not take place on all occasions, the responsibility of attending appointments or cancelling them still rests with the patient.

The surgery does not offer a reply facility to enable patients to respond to texts directly.

Text messages are generated using a secure facility. However please understand that they are transmitted over a public network onto a personal telephone and as such may not be secure. However, the practice will not transmit any information which would enable an individual patient to be identified.

Owing to the near universal popularity of this service we make the assumption that having given us your phone number we may make calls or texts to it but if you have particular needs please let us know.
