Telephone System

We are due on the 9th September 2024 to migrate our phones to a new supplier which is able to provide more features in keeping with the requirements of NHS England. You will notice that the menus and options have changed so please listen carefully to the announcements to be directed to the right person. On the morning of the 9th September there may be a brief interval where we are unable to accept incoming calls so if that is the case, please keep trying, pop in or call 111 or 999 in case of immediate need.

Influenza and Covid-19 Vaccination Autumn 2024

We are planning to reopen our popular Saturday morning clinics for both flu and covid immunisation this year and we have dates of Oct 5th, 12th and 19th. We anticipate being able to offer both vaccines to those who are eligible for both. This will save you from having to visit a pharmacy and keep the funding in the practice to be spent on services that benefit our patients.

For info on eligibility for flu vaccination please see https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/flu-vaccine/

And for info on the Covid-19 booster see https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/covid-19-vaccination/getting-a-covid-19-vaccine/

Medication Supply Issues

We are having difficulty with obtaining several common items of medication at present. This includes but is not limited to medicines for HRT, diabetes and cholesterol. Our inability to get these things is a problem as none of our three main wholesalers are able to give consistent supply of these items due to wider shortages.

This should not reflect on the dispensary staff or their dedication as they are doing everything they can to try to secure supplies of your medication.

There may be times when other pharmacies are able to get medications that we cannot as they have larger contracts with the wholesalers and are supplied first during times of shortages.

We appreciate that this current situation is frustrating for everyone, most of all our hard-working dispensary staff but would like to remind you that we are doing our best and that all of our patients and staff deserve to be respected and spoken to politely. >

Yours, Dr Vipas and the team.
